Is the platform available to residents
As of June 2026 Binance is available to residents of France, where it is one of the most used platforms. French residents can register, complete identity verification, fund in euros, and trade a broad range of crypto assets.
Binance obtained a digital asset service provider registration, known as PSAN, from the AMF in May 2022, and operates in France through a French entity. France is transitioning providers from the national PSAN regime to the European Union MiCA framework, under which a provider needs a full crypto asset service provider authorisation, known as a CASP authorisation, to continue after 1 July 2026. Whether and when Binance holds that MiCA authorisation is a matter to confirm on the AMF and ESMA registers (as of June 2026).
The regulator and the framework
France regulates crypto on two main tracks. The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) supervises digital asset service providers, historically through the national registration regime known as PSAN created by the PACTE law, while the Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR) is involved on the anti money laundering side. Both work alongside the European framework (as of June 2026).
Since 30 December 2024 the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets regulation, known as MiCA, applies to crypto asset service providers across the bloc, supervised in coordination with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). France allows providers that operated lawfully before that date to continue during a transitional period that ends on 1 July 2026, after which a provider must hold a full MiCA authorisation, known as a CASP authorisation, to serve French users. Because this transition is underway, confirm a platform's authorisation on the AMF and ESMA registers (as of June 2026).
How residents access the platform
Residents access Binance in France through its app and website after completing know your customer verification, which the French and European anti money laundering rules require. Euro funding is widely supported, commonly through bank transfer over the SEPA network and card.
The product set centres on spot trading across a large asset list, with additional features offered in some cases and subject to French and European rules. The exact products, supported assets, and fee schedule change over time, and MiCA brings consumer protection rules for providers serving French users, so confirm what is offered to a French account before trading (as of June 2026).
Tax treatment
Tax on crypto for French residents is administered by the Direction générale des Finances publiques (DGFiP). This page does not give tax advice. For how crypto is treated in France in general terms, see the France tax page, and confirm your own position with a qualified local professional before filing.
