Is Binance available in the Netherlands?

Not available to Dutch residents

As of June 2026 Binance does not offer its platform to Dutch residents. Binance withdrew from the Netherlands in 2023 after it did not obtain registration with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), and the Netherlands is not on its list of supported markets. Whether it resumes Dutch service under the European MiCA framework should be confirmed on the AFM and ESMA registers.

How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.

Quick answer

As of June 2026 Binance does not offer its platform to residents of the Netherlands. Binance withdrew from the Dutch market in 2023 after it failed to obtain the registration required by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), and from 17 July 2023 existing Dutch users could only withdraw assets. Reporting indicates Binance later obtained a Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) authorisation through another European Union member state, yet its list of supported markets does not currently include the Netherlands. Because the platform is not available to Dutch residents, this page does not show a compare module for Binance. Confirm the current position on the AFM and ESMA registers.

Availability

Is the platform available to residents

As of June 2026 Binance does not offer its services to residents of the Netherlands. Binance announced its withdrawal from the Dutch market in 2023, and from 17 July 2023 existing Dutch resident users could only withdraw assets, with no further purchases, trades, or deposits.

Binance left after it did not obtain the registration that De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) required of crypto service providers under the rules in force at the time. Reporting indicates Binance later secured a Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) authorisation through another European Union member state, which in principle can be passported across the bloc, yet its list of supported markets does not currently include the Netherlands. Whether and when it resumes Dutch service is a matter to confirm on the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) and European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) registers (as of June 2026).

Regulation

The regulator and the framework

The Netherlands supervises crypto on a Twin Peaks model. De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) historically ran the registration regime for crypto service providers focused on anti money laundering, and the Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) is the conduct authority. Binance did not complete DNB registration before it withdrew in 2023.

Since 30 December 2024 the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets regulation, known as MiCA, applies to crypto asset service providers across the bloc, coordinated with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), with the AFM as the Dutch competent authority. The Dutch transitional period for providers registered under the former DNB regime ended on 30 June 2025. A provider needs a MiCA crypto asset service provider authorisation, known as a CASP authorisation, to serve Dutch users, so confirm any platform's authorisation and the markets it actually serves on the AFM and ESMA registers (as of June 2026).

Access and products

How residents are affected

Because Binance does not list the Netherlands among its supported markets, its products are not offered to a Dutch account in the ordinary way. A MiCA authorisation held in another member state can in principle be passported, but the platform must choose to serve a market, and as of June 2026 the Netherlands is not on its supported list.

If you previously held assets on Binance as a Dutch user, follow the platform's guidance on withdrawals and keep records. To act through a regulated channel now, use a provider that is authorised and available in the Netherlands. Platform coverage and authorisations can change, so confirm the current position with Binance, the AFM, and ESMA before acting (as of June 2026).

Tax

Tax treatment

Tax on crypto for Dutch residents is administered by the Belastingdienst, the Netherlands Tax Administration. Holdings are generally reported under the Box 3 regime that taxes wealth, while activity that amounts to a business or to income can fall under other boxes. This page does not give tax advice. For how crypto is treated in the Netherlands in general terms, see the Netherlands tax page, and confirm your own position with a qualified local professional before filing (as of June 2026).

Compliant alternatives available there

Binance is not available to Dutch residents, so no Binance compare module is shown here. Providers that are authorised and available in the Netherlands include Coinbase and Dutch licensed platforms. Compare the exchanges that are genuinely available in the Netherlands.
