Is Binance available in Singapore?

Not available to Singapore residents

The global Binance platform does not serve residents of Singapore. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) placed Binance.com on its Investor Alert List in September 2021, and Binance then restricted Singapore users, geo blocked Singapore IP addresses, and removed its app from local app stores. Singapore residents who want a regulated platform use providers licensed by MAS instead.

Quick answer

As of June 2026, the global Binance platform does not serve residents of Singapore. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) placed Binance.com on its Investor Alert List in September 2021 over the provision of payment services without a licence, after which Binance restricted Singapore users, geo blocked Singapore IP addresses, and removed its app from Singapore app stores. The separate local entity that had sought a licence wound down its Singapore operations. Singapore residents who want a regulated platform use providers licensed by MAS under the Payment Services Act.

Availability

Availability for Singapore residents

As of 7 June 2026, the global Binance platform does not serve residents of Singapore. The regulator is the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), which supervises digital payment token services under the Payment Services Act. In September 2021 MAS placed Binance.com on its Investor Alert List, which flags entities that may be soliciting Singapore users or carrying on a regulated activity without the required licence.

Following the MAS action, Binance announced it would restrict Singapore users, stop Singapore dollar payment options and trading pairs, geo block Singapore IP addresses, and remove its app from Singapore app stores. A separate local entity, Binance Asia Services, had earlier applied for a licence under the Payment Services Act but withdrew its application and wound down its Singapore operations. As of 7 June 2026 the Binance.com entry remains on the MAS Investor Alert List.

Because the global Binance platform is not licensed to serve Singapore residents and is flagged by MAS, we do not link it for Singapore. Residents who want a regulated platform use providers that hold a licence from MAS. Confirm the current status on the MAS Investor Alert List and the MAS financial institutions directory before acting.

How it works

Access, KYC, and the licensed route

Crypto itself is legal in Singapore. Buying, holding, and trading digital payment tokens is permitted, and the providers that offer those services to residents must hold a licence from MAS under the Payment Services Act. Licensed providers apply identity verification (know your customer, or KYC) and anti money laundering checks, and they can offer a Singapore dollar on ramp through local banking channels.

The global Binance platform does not offer a licensed Singapore dollar route to residents, because it does not hold a MAS licence and has restricted Singapore access. The compliant path for a resident is a MAS licensed provider rather than the global Binance site. For how any gains are taxed, see the Singapore tax section below.

Tax

How crypto is taxed in Singapore

Singapore does not levy a capital gains tax. The tax authority is the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS). Gains from disposing of crypto held as a personal long term investment are generally not taxed, but where buying and selling crypto amounts to carrying on a trade, the profits can be taxable as income. Since 1 January 2020, the supply of digital payment tokens has been exempt from goods and services tax. Treatment depends on your circumstances, so confirm with IRAS or a qualified adviser. See the Singapore crypto tax page. This is general information, not tax advice (as of 7 June 2026).

Available alternatives

The global Binance platform is not licensed in Singapore, so we do not link it here. These pages cover the providers that genuinely hold a licence from MAS and are available to Singapore residents, such as Coinbase, which holds a Major Payment Institution licence.
