Is Binance available in Sweden?
Binance currently serves Swedish residents through its group, and a Swedish registration is held by Binance Nordics AB with Finansinspektionen. That national registration is not a MiCA crypto asset service provider authorisation, and Binance's right to continue serving EU residents after the MiCA transition deadline of 1 July 2026 is not yet confirmed.

How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of 26 June 2026, Binance is available to residents of Sweden and offers spot trading among other products, but its standing in the European Union is developing. The Swedish regulator is Finansinspektionen (FI), and EU wide authorisation runs through the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework. A Swedish registration held by Binance Nordics AB with Finansinspektionen is not the same as a MiCA authorisation, and Binance is reported to be pursuing a MiCA authorisation through another member state. Whether Binance can continue serving Swedish and other EU residents after the MiCA transition deadline of 1 July 2026 is not yet confirmed, so verify the current position before acting.
Availability for Swedish residents
As of 26 June 2026, Binance remains reachable by residents of Sweden and continues to offer spot trading and other products. The Swedish regulator is Finansinspektionen (FI). Binance Nordics AB holds a Swedish registration with Finansinspektionen as a financial institution for trade in and management of virtual currency, which is an anti money laundering registration rather than a full crypto asset service provider authorisation.
Across the European Union, providers are now expected to operate under the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework, either through a national authorisation or by passporting an authorisation held in another member state. National registrations granted before MiCA, including in Sweden, do not by themselves confer the EU passporting rights that MiCA requires from the end of the transition period.
Public reporting in 2026 indicated that Binance submitted a MiCA application through another EU member state. The outcome was contested and moving as of 26 June 2026, and the transition deadline of 1 July 2026 was close. The continued availability of Binance to Swedish residents beyond that deadline should therefore be treated as unclear and verified directly with Finansinspektionen and the platform.
Access, KYC, and products
Binance is a custodial platform, which means it holds the assets in your account on your behalf rather than giving you the private keys. Swedish users who can access the platform typically fund accounts in euro or Swedish krona using bank transfer methods, and identity verification (know your customer, or KYC) is required before trading.
The product mix offered to a given country depends on local rules and on the authorisations the platform holds. Some products, such as certain derivatives, are restricted or unavailable in parts of the European Union. Confirm what is offered to Sweden on the platform itself, and treat the regulatory position as the main open question rather than the day to day mechanics.
How crypto is taxed in Sweden
Sweden taxes crypto for individuals through the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket). In general terms, disposing of crypto is treated as a sale of other assets and gains are taxed as capital, with losses partly deductible, while income such as mining or staking can be treated differently again. Each disposal usually needs to be reported.
Rules and rates change and depend on personal circumstances, so confirm the current treatment with Skatteverket or a qualified adviser. See the Sweden crypto tax page for a fuller explanation. This is general information, not tax advice (as of 26 June 2026).
Several major platforms now serve Swedish residents under the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework, some with a MiCA authorisation already in place. Availability and products vary, so compare the exchanges that are genuinely available in Sweden before you choose.
Every availability status here is dated and checked against the named regulator's public register. We never place a link to a platform where it is not available.
Regulator and sources
The Swedish regulator is Finansinspektionen (FI), and EU wide authorisation runs through the Markets in Crypto Assets framework supervised by national regulators and coordinated with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The position below is stated as of 26 June 2026 and should be confirmed on the primary sources.
- Finansinspektionen (FI), company register and guidance on crypto asset services under MiCA.
- Finansinspektionen registration record for Binance Nordics AB as a financial institution for virtual currency.
- Binance, public updates on its MiCA licensing process in Europe.
- European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), register of authorised crypto asset service providers.
