How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of 26 June 2026, BingX is not licensed to serve residents of Indonesia. Supervision of crypto trading moved to the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, or OJK) in January 2025, and OJK has published a list of licensed crypto asset trading platforms and said that platforms not on the list should be treated as illegal operators. BingX does not appear on that list. Owning crypto is legal in Indonesia through a licensed platform, but BingX is not authorised, so verify the current position with OJK before acting.
Availability for Indonesian residents
As of 26 June 2026, BingX is not licensed to serve residents of Indonesia. Crypto trading is legal in Indonesia but is tightly regulated, and platforms must be licensed to operate. Supervision moved from the commodity futures regulator Bappebti to the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, or OJK) and Bank Indonesia from January 2025.
OJK has published an official list of licensed crypto asset trading platforms and has said that platforms not on the list should be treated as illegal operators. BingX does not appear on that list of licensed providers at the time of writing.
Because BingX is not licensed by OJK and unlisted platforms are treated as illegal operators, treat the platform as not available to Indonesian residents. Owning and trading crypto through a licensed provider remains legal. Verify the current position with OJK before acting.
How the rules apply
BingX is a custodial platform that holds assets on your behalf. To serve Indonesian users lawfully, a platform must hold a licence from OJK and meet local registration, know your customer, and anti money laundering obligations. BingX has not obtained that licence, which is the basis for the restriction.
Indonesian users should rely on platforms that appear on the OJK list of licensed providers. Confirm the current list before acting, because licensing status can change during the transition to the OJK regime.
How crypto is taxed in Indonesia
Crypto transactions are taxed in Indonesia, with oversight from the Directorate General of Taxes (Direktorat Jenderal Pajak). Income tax and value added tax have applied to crypto transactions, and the treatment has been under review during the move to the OJK regime, so confirm the current rates with the Directorate General of Taxes or a qualified Indonesian adviser (as of 26 June 2026).
