How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Quick answer

As of 26 June 2026, BingX is still reachable by residents of Italy, but it does not hold a licence under the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework. BingX has said its MiCA application is under review by the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and has not yet been granted, while Italy's transitional period for crypto firms runs until 1 July 2026, after which the European Securities and Markets Authority expects unlicensed firms to wind down European Union activity. Treat continued access as uncertain and confirm the current position with CONSOB before acting.

Availability

Availability for Italian residents

As of 26 June 2026, BingX is still reachable by residents of Italy, but its standing is unsettled. The Italian regulators are CONSOB (Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa) and Banca d'Italia, which supervise crypto asset service providers under the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets framework. BingX does not appear as an authorised provider at the time of writing.

Across the European Economic Area, crypto platforms must operate under the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework, either through a national authorisation or by passporting a licence held in another member state. Italy extended its transitional period to 18 months, running until 1 July 2026, according to the list maintained by the European Securities and Markets Authority. BingX has stated that it submitted a MiCA application to the Austrian Financial Market Authority (FMA) and that the application has reached an advanced stage of review but has not been granted.

Because BingX holds no MiCA authorisation at the time of writing and the transitional window is closing, its lawful basis to serve Italian residents after the deadline is in question. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has told unlicensed firms to wind down their activity in the European Union. Treat the platform as available with limits, expect new sign ups and some products to be restricted, and verify the current position with CONSOB before acting.

How it works

Access, verification, and products

BingX is a custodial platform, which means it holds the assets in your account on your behalf. Where access is available, Italian users complete identity verification, known as know your customer or KYC, before trading, and anti money laundering checks apply. The platform is known for copy trading, alongside spot and derivatives products.

Because BingX is not yet authorised under MiCA and the Italian transitional period closes on 1 July 2026, new sign ups and certain products may be restricted for Italian users, and access could be withdrawn. Confirm what is offered on the platform itself and treat the authorisation position as the main open question.

Tax

How crypto is taxed in Italy

Crypto is taxed in Italy, with oversight from the Agenzia delle Entrate. Gains on crypto held by individuals are subject to tax, and the rates and thresholds have been changing under recent budget laws, so confirm the current treatment with the Agenzia delle Entrate or a qualified Italian adviser (as of 26 June 2026).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is BingX available in Italy?

As of 26 June 2026, BingX is still reachable by residents of Italy, but it holds no authorisation under the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets framework. Italy's transitional period runs until 1 July 2026, so its continued availability is uncertain. Verify the current position with CONSOB.

Does BingX hold a MiCA licence to serve Italy?

Not at the time of writing. BingX has said its MiCA application is under review by the Austrian Financial Market Authority and has not been granted. Without an authorisation that can be passported into Italy, its lawful basis to serve Italian residents is in question.

When does Italy's transitional period end?

Italy extended its transitional period to 18 months, running until 1 July 2026, according to the list maintained by the European Securities and Markets Authority. After it ends, only authorised providers may serve residents under MiCA.

Yes. Holding, buying, and selling crypto is legal in Italy and supervised under the framework applied by CONSOB and Banca d'Italia. The open question on this page is the authorisation of the BingX platform, not whether owning crypto is allowed.

How are crypto gains taxed in Italy?

Gains on crypto held by individuals are subject to tax, with oversight from the Agenzia delle Entrate, and the rates and thresholds have been changing under recent budget laws. See the Italy crypto tax page. This is general information, not tax advice.

Where can I confirm the current position?

Check the CONSOB and Banca d'Italia registers and notices, the European Securities and Markets Authority, and BingX's own published updates. Those primary sources are the most current way to confirm availability before acting.
