Is Bitstamp available in Vietnam?
As of June 2026 Bitstamp does not offer its services to residents of Vietnam. Vietnam recognised crypto assets in law for the first time through the Law on Digital Technology Industry, in force from 1 January 2026, but the licensing regime for exchanges is still being built and Bitstamp is not available there. Crypto cannot be used as a means of payment in Vietnam.

How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of June 2026 Bitstamp does not offer its services to residents of Vietnam. Vietnam is not among the countries Bitstamp serves. Vietnam recognised crypto assets in law for the first time through the Law on Digital Technology Industry, which took effect on 1 January 2026, but the detailed licensing regime for exchanges is still being developed and no platform holds a full local license under the new law yet. Crypto remains barred as a means of payment, overseen by the State Bank of Vietnam. Because Bitstamp is not available to Vietnamese residents, we do not link it for Vietnam.
Is the platform available to residents
As of June 2026 Bitstamp does not serve residents of Vietnam. Vietnam is not among the countries Bitstamp lists as supported, and Bitstamp is not licensed under Vietnam new digital asset framework. There is no compliant route for a Vietnamese resident to open and fund a Bitstamp account through the platform, so this page does not provide a sign up path or an affiliate link for Bitstamp in Vietnam.
Vietnam legal framework for crypto is new and still being implemented, so the conditions for a licensed local exchange are not yet fully in place. Availability can change as the rules are finalised and as platforms seek licenses, so this is the position as of June 2026. Until then, the local market operates without a fully licensed exchange regime.
The regulator and the framework
Vietnam recognised digital assets in law through the Law on Digital Technology Industry, passed on 14 June 2025 and effective from 1 January 2026. The law defines categories of digital asset, including virtual assets and crypto assets, giving them legal recognition for the first time. The State Bank of Vietnam and the Ministry of Finance are developing the detailed rules, including business conditions, anti money laundering safeguards, and a pilot framework for testing. The State Bank of Vietnam continues to bar crypto as a means of payment.
As of June 2026 the licensing regime for crypto exchanges is still being built, and no platform holds a full local license under the new law yet. Bitstamp is not licensed in Vietnam and is not offered to Vietnamese residents. Because the framework is new and the position is in part still unclear, residents should confirm the current rules with the State Bank of Vietnam and the Ministry of Finance before acting.
How residents access the platform
There is no available route for Vietnamese residents to use Bitstamp as of June 2026. Because Vietnam is outside Bitstamp supported countries and Bitstamp holds no Vietnamese license, residents cannot complete a compliant onboarding through the platform. We do not describe workarounds, because using a platform that is not offered in your country can conflict with the platform terms and local rules, and the local framework is still being implemented.
Vietnamese residents who want to follow the developing rules should watch for licensed local providers as the new framework is implemented. See the best exchanges in Vietnam page for current information on what is genuinely available there.
Tax treatment
Tax on crypto for Vietnamese taxpayers falls under the General Department of Taxation, within the Ministry of Finance. As of June 2026 the tax treatment of crypto assets is still being defined alongside the new digital asset law, so the exact position is unclear and should be confirmed rather than assumed. This page does not give tax advice. For general information see the Vietnam tax page, and confirm your own position with a qualified local professional before acting.
