Is Gate.io available in Philippines?
Gate.io can be accessed by residents of the Philippines and the country is not on its list of restricted regions. However, the Securities and Exchange Commission requires platforms that serve Filipino clients to register under its Rules on Crypto Asset Service Providers, in force since 5 July 2025, and Gate.io does not appear on the Commission's register, so its standing is treated as available with limits.

How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of 26 June 2026, Gate.io is reachable by residents of the Philippines but its status is available with limits. The Philippines is not on Gate.io's list of restricted regions, and Gate.io was not among the platforms named in the Securities and Exchange Commission advisory of August 2025. However, the Commission's Rules on Crypto Asset Service Providers, in force since 5 July 2025, require platforms serving Filipino clients to register, and Gate.io does not appear on the Commission's register, so confirm the current position before acting.
Availability for residents of the Philippines
As of 26 June 2026, Gate.io is reachable by residents of the Philippines. The Philippines is not listed among the restricted regions on Gate.io's official restricted locations page, and Gate.io was not among the platforms named in the Securities and Exchange Commission advisory of August 2025, so the platform can in practice be accessed from the Philippines.
The position carries limits. On 5 July 2025 the Securities and Exchange Commission brought into force its Rules on Crypto Asset Service Providers, which require both local and foreign platforms that serve Filipino clients to register with the Commission. Gate.io does not appear on the Commission's register of authorised crypto asset service providers.
In August 2025 the Commission named and moved to block a group of offshore exchanges that were operating without that registration, and it has stated that the list is not exhaustive and may be expanded. For that reason Gate.io is treated here as available with limits in the Philippines as of 26 June 2026. Confirm the current position with the Securities and Exchange Commission and on Gate.io's own notices before acting.
The regulator and the framework
In the Philippines the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the authority for crypto asset service providers, supervising the sector under the Rules on Crypto Asset Service Providers that took effect on 5 July 2025. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) separately oversees virtual asset service providers for payment and remittance activities.
Under the Commission's rules, a platform that serves Filipino clients must hold the relevant registration. Gate.io does not currently appear on the Commission's list of registered providers, and the Commission has blocked access to several unregistered offshore exchanges. Confirm the current registration position directly with the Securities and Exchange Commission (as of 26 June 2026).
How crypto is taxed in Philippines
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) treats income and gains from crypto as taxable under the National Internal Revenue Code, so profits can be subject to income tax depending on how the activity is characterised (as of 26 June 2026).
Because rates and reporting requirements change and depend on personal circumstances, confirm the current treatment with the Bureau of Internal Revenue or a qualified adviser. See the Philippines crypto tax page for a fuller explanation. This is general information, not tax advice (as of 26 June 2026).
Gate.io can be accessed from the Philippines, but it does not appear on the Securities and Exchange Commission register of crypto asset service providers. Before you choose a platform, compare the options for the Philippines and check each one's registration status with the Commission.
Every availability status here is dated and checked against the named regulator's public register. We never place a link to a platform where it is not available.
