How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of June 2026 KuCoin is available to residents of Turkey, principally through KuCoin TR, the local entity. KuCoin TR introduced Turkish lira on ramps and trading pairs and submitted its licence application to the Capital Markets Board (CMB, also called SPK) in August 2025, placing it among the providers operating under the transition regime created by Law No. 7518, which took effect in July 2024. It runs Turkish lira deposits, withdrawals, and trading after identity verification. Crypto cannot be used as a means of payment in Turkey under a 2021 central bank rule. Confirm the current licensing status on the CMB list before acting.
Is the platform available to residents
As of June 2026 KuCoin is available to residents of Turkey, with local access running mainly through KuCoin TR. The local entity lets residents register, complete identity verification with a Turkish identity number, fund in Turkish lira, and trade crypto assets, and it introduced targeted Turkish lira on ramps and trading pairs.
Turkey brought all crypto asset service providers under the Capital Markets Board through Law No. 7518, which took effect in July 2024. Platforms operating before that date had to apply to the CMB and could continue under a transition regime while the Board carried out its assessments. KuCoin TR submitted its formal licence application to the CMB in August 2025 and appears among the operating providers. Whether and when full licensing is granted is a matter to confirm on the CMB list (as of June 2026).
The regulator and the framework
Turkey regulates crypto on two main tracks. The Capital Markets Board (CMB, also called SPK) licenses and supervises crypto asset service providers under Law No. 7518, which amended the Capital Markets Law and took effect in July 2024, with secondary rules published by the Board in March 2025. The Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) supervises anti money laundering and identity verification obligations (as of June 2026).
Holding, buying, and selling crypto through licensed providers is permitted in Turkey. Separately, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) issued a regulation in April 2021 that prohibits the use of crypto assets as a means of payment for goods and services. The CMB has stated that its objective is for only fully licensed entities to operate, so the list of authorised providers can change. Confirm a platform's status on the CMB list (as of June 2026).
How residents access the platform
Residents access KuCoin in Turkey mainly through KuCoin TR after completing know your customer verification, which the Turkish anti money laundering rules require, including a Turkish identity number. Turkish lira deposits and withdrawals are supported through local banking channels, and larger transfers can require a higher verification level.
The product set centres on spot trading across a broad asset list. Under the Turkish framework, providers cannot offer leveraged crypto trading to local users, and marketing rules restrict guaranteed return claims and high reward campaigns. The exact products, supported assets, and fee schedule change over time, so confirm what is offered to a Turkish account before trading (as of June 2026).
Tax treatment
Tax on crypto for residents of Turkey is administered by the Revenue Administration (Gelir Idaresi Baskanligi), under the Ministry of Treasury and Finance. This page does not give tax advice. For how crypto is treated in Turkey in general terms, see the Turkey tax page, and confirm your own position with a qualified local professional before filing.
