How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of June 2026 OKX is available to French residents. OKX serves France through OKX Europe, which obtained a MiCA crypto asset service provider authorisation, known as a CASP authorisation, from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) in January 2025 and passports that authorisation across the European Economic Area. As part of that consolidation OKX France Technology Company Limited was removed from the AMF register in July 2025, so French users are now served under the passported MiCA authorisation. Residents typically fund in euros and trade a broad asset list. Products and fees change, so confirm the current position on the AMF and ESMA registers before acting.
Is the platform available to residents
As of June 2026 OKX is available to residents of France. French residents can register, complete identity verification, fund in euros, and trade a broad range of crypto assets through OKX Europe.
OKX serves the bloc under the European Union MiCA framework. OKX Europe obtained a full crypto asset service provider authorisation, known as a CASP authorisation, from the Malta Financial Services Authority in January 2025, and passports it into France and the wider European Economic Area. OKX then consolidated its European operations under that single authorisation, and OKX France Technology Company Limited was removed from the AMF digital asset service provider register in July 2025. The current authorised entity and the scope of its services are matters to confirm on the AMF and ESMA registers (as of June 2026).
The regulator and the framework
Since 30 December 2024 the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets regulation, known as MiCA, applies to crypto asset service providers across the bloc, coordinated by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). A provider authorised in one member state can passport its services into the others. OKX Europe is authorised in Malta and supervised by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) as its home regulator, and it passports into France (as of June 2026).
In France the national authorities remain relevant. The Autorite des marches financiers (AMF) supervises digital asset service providers and publishes the registers, and the Autorite de controle prudentiel et de resolution (ACPR) is involved on anti money laundering. France allowed providers under its former national PSAN regime to continue during a transitional period that ends on 1 July 2026, after which a provider must hold a MiCA authorisation to serve French users. Because passporting and the transition both apply here, confirm OKX Europe's authorisation on the AMF and ESMA registers (as of June 2026).
How residents access the platform
Residents access OKX in France through its app and website after completing know your customer verification, which the French and European anti money laundering rules require. Euro funding is widely supported, commonly through bank transfer over the SEPA network and card.
The product set centres on spot trading across a large asset list, with additional features offered in some cases and subject to French and European rules. The exact products, supported assets, and fee schedule change over time, and MiCA brings consumer protection rules for providers serving French users, so confirm what is offered to a French account before trading (as of June 2026).
Tax treatment
Tax on crypto for French residents is administered by the Direction generale des Finances publiques (DGFiP). This page does not give tax advice. For how crypto is treated in France in general terms, see the France tax page, and confirm your own position with a qualified local professional before filing.
OKX is one of several platforms available to French residents, alongside Crypto.com, KuCoin, Binance, and Kraken among others. Availability and funding methods vary, so compare the exchanges that are genuinely available in France before you choose.
Every availability status here is dated and checked against the named regulator's public register. We never place a link to a platform where it is not available.
