Is HTX available in Poland?
HTX is currently reachable by Polish residents but holds no authorisation under the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets framework. The Polish Financial Supervision Authority oversees the transition, and from 1 July 2026 firms without authorisation may not serve clients in Poland, so the platform is best treated as winding down.
Information, not advice. This is general information, not legal, tax, or financial advice. Verify the current rules with a qualified local professional and the official regulator before acting.
How we checked this. We set this status by reading the platform's own terms of use and country eligibility, and the public register kept by the named regulator, then dated the result. Availability can change, so confirm directly with the platform and the regulator before acting. As of 26 June 2026.
As of 26 June 2026, HTX is still reachable by residents of Poland, but it holds no authorisation under the European Union Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework and does not appear on the register kept by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). In Poland the competent authority is the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, known as the Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego (KNF). From 1 July 2026 crypto asset service providers without MiCA authorisation may not serve clients in the European Union, including Poland. Owning crypto is legal in Poland, so the issue is the platform authorisation rather than crypto itself. Confirm the current position with the Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego before acting.
Availability for Polish residents
As of 26 June 2026, HTX remains reachable by residents of Poland, who can typically register, verify identity, and trade. HTX does not list Poland among its restricted countries. The platform is operated offshore rather than by an authorised European entity.
Across the European Union and Poland, crypto asset service providers are now expected to operate under the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework. In Poland the competent authority is the Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego, and the European Union transition allows national grandfathering to run only until 1 July 2026. HTX does not appear on the ESMA register of authorised crypto asset service providers as of 26 June 2026.
With the European Union transition ending on 1 July 2026, a firm without MiCA authorisation may not lawfully serve clients in Poland. For that reason the position is best described as available with limits and winding down. Confirm the current ESMA register and Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego notices before you rely on this position.
Access, KYC, and products
HTX is a custodial platform, which means it holds the assets in your account on your behalf rather than giving you the private keys. Polish users who can access the platform generally complete identity verification, known as know your customer, before trading.
Because HTX is not authorised under MiCA, the products offered to Polish users may be reduced or withdrawn, and the Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego can warn against and act on the unauthorised provision of services. A platform that holds MiCA authorisation can serve Poland on a settled basis, so check the ESMA register and the platform terms for Poland before acting.
How to act within the rules
Holding, buying, and selling crypto is legal for individuals in Poland, so a resident is not breaking the law simply by owning crypto assets. The clearest way to stay within the rules is to use a crypto asset service provider that holds MiCA authorisation and appears on the ESMA register, since that provider is supervised by a European competent authority such as the Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego.
If you currently hold assets on HTX, plan for the transition by reviewing where your assets are held and moving to an authorised provider or to self custody if needed. Report any taxable gains to the Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa and confirm the current authorisation position before you act.
How crypto is taxed in Poland
Poland taxes gains on the disposal of crypto for individuals under its personal income tax rules, administered by the national tax administration, the Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa. Crypto gains are reported separately and have been taxed at a flat rate of 19 percent, but the current figure should be confirmed rather than assumed.
Rules and rates change and depend on personal circumstances, so confirm the current treatment with the Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa or a qualified adviser. See the Poland crypto tax page for a fuller explanation. This is general information, not tax advice (as of 26 June 2026).
Several platforms serve residents of Poland, and a number hold MiCA authorisation and appear on the ESMA register. Availability and products vary, so compare the exchanges that are genuinely available in Poland before you choose.
Every availability status here is dated and checked against the named regulator's public register. We never place a link to a platform where it is not available.
Regulator and sources
The Polish regulator is the Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego (KNF), and European Union authorisation runs through the Markets in Crypto Assets framework coordinated with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). - European Union Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) Regulation and its transitional provisions ending 1 July 2026.
